National Commitments to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities
The 2022 national conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health presented a transformational vision to end hunger and reduce diet-related diseases by 2030 while addressing disparities in the most affected communities.
More Work in Action
The International Fresh Produce Association’s investment of $10,000 supported the request of the Urban School Food Alliance and other school nutrition directors to create low-sugar school breakfast recipes that feature a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. This will help schools meet USDA’s proposed added sugar targets. Family version recipes for schools to send home with families are also being explored.

The combination of limited access to nutritious food, a lack of financial resources, and the complexity of adhering to dietary recommendations, make an already scary situation even more difficult.
